FAQ

How do I use the fishing pond?

The Fishing Pond is managed by BVT.

  • In order to fish you need a current Environmental Agency License and a permit to fish. Permits are available on the day for £5.00 from the bailiff.
  • Wednesdays are competition days.
  • Please read our further pond rules here.

Any other queries please contact BVT directly at enquiries@bvt.org.uk.

Can I use your car park when I visit?

Yes! Our car park has 120 spaces and is free of charge. We have disabled parking available and a bay outside the front of the building for extra parking. The car park closes when the building closes for the evening and opens again at 7am.

Can I get a memorial bench in the park?

We are unable to accommodate fixed benches around the building due to the multi use nature of the building and grounds for events, along with the possibility of future development.

We welcome non fixed benches (providing they meet our requirements), however we cannot guarantee the safety or location of these as we often move outside furniture around for events, and the public are also inclined to move furniture whilst using the grounds.

In the past we have trialled trees and have found again due to the wide open public space they have sadly been vandalised or have not taken to the ground.

The land around the fishing pond and to the Hawthorne Road side of the building belongs to Bournville Village Trust who will be able to advise you on costs and processes of having a fixed bench in this area. You can contact them at enquiries@bvt.org.uk.

Are your building and grounds access friendly?

Yes! We welcome everyone and anyone to Rowheath Pavilion.

Our car park includes disabled parking and all our facilities (bar, café, large function room & changing rooms) are located on the ground floor with easy access. We have disabled toilets in the building by the café and bar, and a Changing Places toilet in the changing rooms. You can access this with a key from a staff member in the café or bar.

Are dogs allowed in the building?

Yes! We allow dogs in the bar, café and terrace room. We have water bowls located around the building and our staff are always happy to fill up a dog bowl if you bring one yourself. There are free dog treats available in both the bar and café and the café also sells Scoops Dog Ice Cream.

Do you have baby changing facilities?

Yes! We have baby changing facilities in the women's and disabled toilets by the café.

Do you allow wakes in the Terrace Room?

We are able to offer wake hire on a Friday from 1pm - 5pm during the school holidays. We are unable to offer wakes on weekends or during other days of the week due to weekly community group hire. For school holiday enquiries, please email info@rowheathpavilion.co.uk.

Can I set up a gazebo/barbecue in the park?

Barbecues are prohibited on our grounds due to fire safety.

Gazebos are permitted provided they are weighted down and not placed on private land. They are prohibited on the terrace and sports pitches.

Do you have a lost and found?

Yes! We keep lost and found items for up to a week. Ask at the café or Bookings Office for any lost property.

Where is your fire assembly point?

Our fire assembly point is located in our car park. Please follow the signage from whichever area of the building you are in and find your nearest fire exit to get to the car park.
